Prof. Dirk Neumann, Dean of the School of Economicsat Albert-Ludwigs-Universitat Freiburg, Chair of the Information Engineering Research Programme, Head of theInstitute for Economics at the University of Freiburg. Hismain research fields are big data analytics, energy marketfor the future, FinTech, business informatics, etc. He haspublished more than 200 papers in high-ranking journalssuch as Operations Research, Manufacturing & ServiceManagement, Journal of Management Information Systems, European Journal of Operational Research as well asconferences. Professor Neumann is an internationally influential and renowned economist whose work has beenwidely cited in the literature and who was awarded theworldwide Faculty Award by IBM in 2011.

讲座内容：

This paper presents a novel Demand Response (DR)program to mitigate grid congestion. The program standsout by adjusting electricity prices online and solely basedon observed aggregate electricity consumption. lt cancope with non-elastic and time-interdependent demand.Additionally, the solution approach based on Deep Reinforcement Learning reaches a cost saving of 40% to 60%after 25 simulation days. Regarding load flexibility, thispaper find that the responses of the four load typesstrongly differ depending on prices and notification interval, which is an important design parameter.
